IP65 Module High Efficiency LED Downlight | FUN Series
Downlight Modules That Deliver IP65 Protection Without Sacrificing Optical Quality
When you’re building a lighting product line or specifying fixtures for a commercial project, the term “downlight module” often brings up a trade-off: weatherproof models tend to be bulky and inefficient, while compact high-efficiency units rarely carry a true IP65 rating.
The FUN Series was designed to close that gap. It’s an IP65-rated, high-efficiency LED downlight module available in both COB (with three beam angle options) and SMD (55° wide flood) configurations — from 15W to 40W, delivering up to 3,200 lumens from a compact aluminium housing with depth anti-glare design.
Whether you’re a lighting brand looking for a reliable module to integrate into your product line, a contractor specifying for a wet-location project, or a designer who needs both optical precision and weatherproofing, this guide walks you through what the FUN Series offers and why it stands out in the downlight module category.

What Makes a Good Downlight Module
A downlight module is a self-contained LED lighting unit designed to fit into recessed ceiling housings or function as a complete fixture. The quality of a module comes down to three things: light output and optical control, thermal management and durability, and environmental protection.
Most modules on the market optimize for one or two of these — but rarely all three. Here’s how the FUN Series addresses each:
Optical Performance
The FUN Series offers two optical paths:
• COB type (Z030119): Chip-on-Board LED with precision reflector, available in 50°, 60°, and 80° beam angles. This gives you real control over light distribution — narrow accent, medium wash, or wide flood — all from the same product family.
• SMD type (Z030120): Surface-Mount Device LEDs behind an opal diffuser, fixed 55° beam angle for uniform, shadow-free general illumination.
Both versions support CRI>80 standard and CRI>90 for color-critical applications. The COB version, in particular, produces clean beam cutoffs with minimal spill — important when you’re lighting merchandise, artwork, or architectural features.
Thermal Management
At 40W and 6400 lumens, thermal design matters. The FUN Series uses a die-cast aluminium housing with large external fin arrays — you can see them clearly in the product photos. These aren’t decorative. They dramatically increase surface area for convective heat transfer, keeping the LED junction temperature low even at full power in enclosed ceiling conditions.
The result: stable lumen maintenance over the fixture’s rated life. No thermal derating needed. No premature failure from heat buildup.
Environmental Protection
IP65 means: - “6” = dust-tight, complete protection against dust ingress - “5” = protected against lowpressure water jets from any direction
This isn’t a self-declared rating. The FUN Series is tested IP65. That matters for bathrooms, commercial kitchens, covered outdoor areas, pool surrounds, and any space where moisture or dust is a concern. With IP65 protection and durable construction, NODE Series is an ideal choice for projects that require an architectural outdoor recessed downlight solution for facades, landscapes, and exterior spaces.
Parameters
COB type (Z030119 Series) — 50°/60°/80° Beam Angle, IP65
| Item No | Dimension(mm) | Cut out(mm) | Power | Lumen |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Z030119-15 | φ100×H64 | φ95 | 15W | 2400lm |
| Z030119-20 | φ120×H68 | φ115 | 20W | 3200lm |
| Z030119-30 | φ165×H79 | φ150 | 30W | 4800lm |
| Z030119-40 | φ210×H86 | φ200 | 40W | 6400lm |
SMD type (Z030120 Series) — 55° Beam Angle, IP65
| Item No | Dimension(mm) | Cut out(mm) | Power | Lumen |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Z030120-15 | φ100×H64 | φ95 | 15W | 2400lm |
| Z030120-20 | φ120×H68 | φ115 | 20W | 3200lm |

| Z030120-40 | φ210×H86 | φ200 | 40W | 6400lm |
At 160 lumens per watt across the entire range, the FUN Series delivers consistent efficiency whether you’re running 15W for a bathroom or 40W for a large commercial space.
Choosing Between COB and SMD
The decision comes down to your lighting intent:
Choose COB when you need: - Precise beam control (50°/60°/80° options) - Accent lighting for artwork, merchandise, or architectural features - Wall washing with controlled spill - Higher visual impact with defined light pools.
Choose SMD when you need: - Uniform, shadow-free general illumination - Wide 55° coverage for large areas - Soft, diffused light for comfort-focused spaces - Simpler specification (one beam angle, consistent output).
Many commercial projects benefit from mixing both: COB for accent zones, SMD for ambient areas. The FUN Series makes this possible within a single product family — same housing dimensions, same mounting system, same IP65 rating.
Typical Applications
